“On first discovering this plastic object in the cave on East beach, it looked like a cluster of wax from a melted candle. But when photographed, it seems to take on the form of a seated figure that is perhaps contemplating the amount of plastic surrounding it, and with its head hanging low – with thoughts about mans inability to control the over consumption of plastic that has sadly ended up at this remote location”.

The series represents phases of the moon which transition initially from 8 ‘full moons’ running through 56 eclipses, and ending with 8 ‘new moons’ of coral. The new coral moons offer a glimpse of the landscape itself - without plastic, and serve as a metaphor to the hope that Henderson will eventually return to its natural primitive state.
